Carpet

Commercial vacuuming robots for buildings in Saudi Arabia

Carpet, edges, and the dust a mop only moves around.

On carpet, a mop achieves nothing and a manual vacuum achieves whatever the shift had time for. A commercial vacuuming robot covers the route every night, at the same hour, and reports what it covered. On hard floors it sweeps and dry dust mops as well, so one machine does work that is usually split between three.

It is also searched as a commercial robot vacuum or a carpet cleaning robot.

ECOVACS lab figures; real-world results depend on the floor, the obstacles and the route.

The 52 cm figure is the one that matters in a hotel. The body is 42 cm wide and the machine needs 52 cm to pass, so it gets through standard hotel corridors, between seating and along office rows without being lifted or steered. A robot that cannot reach the end of its route is found stuck in the morning.

The 10 litre dust bucket decides the labour. A robot that fills halfway through the route needs a person waiting for it. Bucket size against floor area and soiling is what we check at the site assessment.

One machine instead of three. Vacuuming, sweeping and dust mopping are usually three tasks, three pieces of equipment and three passes. Here they are one route, with the machine choosing the mode by surface.

Quiet enough to run near people, with a noise-reduced design and a manual mode for spot cleaning during the day.

Questions

What buyers actually ask

How many square metres can one machine cover per hour?

ECOVACS publishes a theoretical 1,296 m² per hour, and 5,184 m² of vacuuming on one charge. The more useful number is what it achieves on your floor, because coverage falls with obstacle density, door frequency and how often the route has to divert around people — a clear hotel corridor and a furnished open-plan office give very different figures from the same machine.

We establish it with a trial on your own floor before you commit, which is also how you find out whether the route works at all.

Does it need a technician, or can existing cleaning staff run it?

Existing staff. Daily operation is starting the route, emptying the bin and docking the machine, and we train the cleaning team on site. What does need a specialist is the initial mapping and the schedule configuration, and that is our work, not yours.

What happens when it meets a person, a step, or a closed door?

It stops and routes around a person, stops at a drop or a step, and treats a closed door as a boundary — it will clean up to it and continue the route. The practical consequence is that doors left closed overnight produce uncleaned rooms, so the route design and the building's overnight door policy have to agree. This is the commonest cause of disappointment in the first month and it is a procedural fix, not a technical one.

How long does mapping a new building take?

A floor is usually mapped in a single visit, with the route refined over the first week of operation once the real obstacles show themselves. Allow a fortnight from delivery to a settled nightly schedule rather than expecting it to run perfectly on night one.

Who services it in Saudi Arabia?

Centra. Service and spares are held in the Kingdom and response times are set in the service agreement rather than left to goodwill. Ask every supplier in this category the same question and compare the answers — it is where the market differentiates, not on suction.
